Gary Brooker - The Long Goodbye 1985

Gary Brooker - The Long Goodbye 1985 I know I've done my best But that's no consolation I s'pose I should have guessed When I saw the invitation you told me love was blind But you were only joking I know you've changed your mind But I still keep on hoping. Head held high Eyes on the sky I know I've got to be strong If I see you again it will be as a friend With time for a long goodbye You know I felt so bad When I left you at the station It was the first time I Had felt such desolation It's been a long, log time And I still can't forget you But my friends all say That maybe I don't want to. Head held high Eyes on the sky I know I've got to be strong If I see you again it will be as a friend With time for a long goodbye

Gary Brooker - Beyond The Pale - Procol Harum Beyond The Pale (Exotic Birds And Fruits -- 1975) Who will search for holy grail Past the edge beyond the veil Who will come beyond the light Far from reach beyond all sight Who will share this bitter cup Let the wild dogs tear them up Let the cold winds blow them down Drive them deep beneath the ground Who will live in darkest night Dankest gloom and quietest quiet Buried deep beneath the ground Far from any human sound Who will search for treasure trove Scour the seas and scale the globe Past the peaks beyond the heights Farmost reaches furthest sights Who will share this bitter cup Let the wild dogs tear them up Let the cold winds blow them down Drive them deep beneath the ground

A WHITER SHADE OF PALE. By Gary Brooker, Keith Reid and Matthew Fisher.

COMPARATIVE STUDY NO. 2. Released sometime in 1967, this song was a BIG hit for the band PROCOL HARUM. It is the most played song, in the last 75 years, in public places in the UK. According to experts this song was inspired by JS Bach's " Air on the G String" and " Sleepers Awake". For comparative purposes I have kept it as a straight karaoke on the guitar.

Gary Brooker - Give Me Something to Remember You By

This song is a part of the solo disc by Gary Brooker called No More Fear of Flying recorded in 1979. I haven't found it in youtube, so i decided to upload it. Lyrics: So many ships have slipped on by in the night I couldn't keep the score Until you tied up in the harbour with me And I prayed we'd share something more Maybe we both tried just a bit too hard New loves so close and true For ten wild days we held a straight flush in hearts And then I froze on you Give me something to remember you by Like a kiss on a cold cold night Give me something to remember you by As your ship sinks out of sight The queen of rubies took the sweet jack of moon So high above the flood Though they survived the fall with ice on their wings The stables ran with blood Maybe we had too much to win or loose We'd both been lost before But that ain't your hear that's an anchor and chain All those are claw marks across my floor Give me something to remember you by Like a knife or a blue steel key Give me something to remember you by Like a rose like a storm at sea Give me something to remember you by We weren't wrong but we weren't right Give me something to remember you by Bye-bye baby, bye-bye

Ringo Starr - Live in Michigan - 3. The Devil Came From Kansas (Gary Brooker)

Pine Knob Theatre. May 30th 1997. A Salty Dog is an album by the Rock band Procol Harum, released in June 1969. Having an ostensibly nautical theme, as indicated by its cover (a pastiche of the famous Player's Navy Cut cigarette pack), interspersed with straight rock, blues and pop items A Salty Dog showed a slight change of direction from its predecessors, being thematically less obscure. The title track itself was the first Procol track to use sound effects and an orchestra, as would be referred to in the live album performance some three years later. The musical tensions between the group and Robin Trower were beginning to show in this album, and although his guitar sound remains integral to most of the tracks, Crucifiction Lane (featuring a rare Trower vocal), in retrospect, shows that Trower was already moving in a different direction from the rest of the band. Still this album is much more musically varied than the two previous albums, with 3 Fisher vocals and 1 by Trower.

Ringo Starr - Live in Michigan - 14. Conquistador (Gary Brooker)

Pine Knob Theatre, May 30th 1997. Procol Harum is the self-titled first album by British rock band Procol Harum, released in September 1967. The original Deram release of the LP included a large poster of the album cover artwork by Dickinson. Though the album was recorded on multi-track, it was issued in mono-only in the UK, and in mono and rechanneled stereo in the US. Despite extensive searching, the original multi-track tapes have not been located and thus a stereo mix of the original 10 tracks may never be possible. Several alternate takes (marked + in the list, below), however, have been mixed into stereo and are available on CD.

The title track, backed with "Long Gone Geek", reached number 44 in the UK singles chart in 1969 and the album itself number 27 in the album chart.[1] When Gary Brooker first played Salty Dog at the piano for BJ Wilson a sunbeam illumined Wilson's face and he told Brooker he thought it was the most beautiful song he had ever heard. The album was the first record produced by Matthew Fisher, who quit the band soon after its release. The song "Salty Dog" was featured in the 1983 film Purple Haze

Ringo Starr - Live in Michigan - 22. A Whiter Shade of Pale (Gary Brooker)

Pine Knob Theatre, May 30th 1997. "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the debut song by the British band Procol Harum, released 12 May 1967. The single reached number one in the UK Singles Chart[1] on 8 June 1967, and stayed there for six weeks. With its haunting tone and Bach flavouring (both provided by Hammond organist Matthew Fisher), vocals by Gary Brooker, and unusual lyrics by Keith Reid, "A Whiter Shade of Pale" reached #1 in several countries when released in 1967. In the years since, it has become an enduring classic. Even in 2009, it was the most played song in public places in the UK.[2]. In fact, the United Kingdom performing rights group Phonographic Performance Limited in 2004 recognized it as the most-played record by British broadcasting of the past 70 years.[3]. More than 900 recorded cover versions by other artists are known.[4] The song has been included in many music compilations over the decades and has also been used in the soundtracks of numerous films, including The Big Chill, Purple Haze, Breaking the Waves, The Boat That Rocked and notably in Martin Scorsese's segment of New York Stories. Cover versions of the song have also been featured in many films, for example by King Curtis in Withnail and I and by Annie Lennox in The Net.
