from the album "Celebration" (1980) You are the morning of my life! You are my darkest night, You run from me when I'm needing you, And when I don't care, I find you there. I'm on my way to San Remo. On every mountain there's a glow, On every cloud your face comes shining Just gotta call and let you know Gonna stop for a drink, gotta get off the free way, Gotta laugh and talk, gotta make 'em smile, But in the warm night wind, I feel your sweet breath on me, Babe, I can't take it another mile! Gonna walk in the square of Milan Cathedral, It's gonna be a hot summer night! Every shining moment of my life is here And all the tears that I ever cried! Way down below I see the lights of London, Always I call you when I come home, But a child in my head is crying, "You won't be there for me", It's gonna be one more night alone! from the album "Water Bearer" (1978) Weaver! With your lovers loom, I have seen you by the light of the moon! Winking those eyes of green and gold Dancing, dancing, dancing! Dancing, dancing, dancing! Down the silver maze of the Milky Way And all across the heavens! Weaver! With your spindle of fire! I have seen you with the eyes of desire! Shadow and flame so rich and strange, Dancing, dancing, dancing! Dancing, dancing, dancing! Oh you move towards Orion's sword To your destination Alpha! Weaver! With your magical mind, I hear you calling from an unknown time, Spinning your light so clear and bright! Dancing, dancing, dancing! Dancing, dancing, dancing rain On the clusters of a starry brain Like a mirror of creation! Weaver! with your lover's loom, I have seen you by the light of the moon! Spinning your light so clear and bright! Dancing, dancing, dancing! Dancing, dancing, dancing! Down the silver maze of the Milky Way And all across the heavens! It's the night of the Hunter And there is no place to hide or run to! The spell of the moonlight Says a love supreme will find your heart this night! The song "Sally" was published with the first uk-edition of the album "Platinum" in 1979, but then quickley substituted by "Into Wonderland". The story's told, that "Sally" was canceled at the instigation of Richard Branson (founder of Virgin Records). Strangely they have forgotten to rename the track on the cover of following editions until today. --------------------------------- Isn't it good to know You only get one go? Give me a key and let me see. Try and act normally! Seems it's an ancient art To be the one who starts it rolling. Wouldn't you like to know the way? Hear what the wise man say. [ Chorus ] Sally, I'm just a gorilla. I'll say I'll love you ever more. Even an ape from Manila Couldn't stop me knocking on your door! One and a-one make two. Only you must come through. If there's a way, then let me say: I'd rather stay with you. Seems it's an ancient art To be the one who starts it rolling. Wouldn't you like to know the way? Hear what the wise man say. [ Repeat Chorus ]

from the album "Natasha" (1990) I see a star and it's softly shining On the hillside so quiet and bright, Star of wonder! Star of my childhood, In all my lifetime the one clear light And when the way is dark, my heart is like a stone, It's calling me to find the way back home Oh I will follow my guiding star! You bring me light, shine on me tonight! Follow my guiding star and for all time Forever shine for all mankind! Oh! Show us the way back home! I see a star, star of the morning over every country, over every land, Star of freedom, star of a new birth For every woman, every child and man And as the candles all light up and the sun starts to glow I can see a new road shining and it's Time for us to go. from the album "Playing in the Flame" (1981) Babe the night is warm! I'm coming home Is where the heart is beating Babe the moon is young! just like We've never been gone, a vigil it's been keeping. See my lamplight it's still burning! Do you want to take a light from mine to feed your flame? Though I've been gone so long, the light's been shining on Guiding me home through the wind and the rain. Years looking for this song which I heard through my parents about 11 years ago. I noticed there was no video with lyrics for this song and no many videos with the single version of this. If you like 80's music maybe you'll like this song. Sally Oldfield is Mike Oldfield's sister so I chose for the video the clip of "Moonlight Shadow", just a random clip not to have just lyrics. The important thing are the lyrics :P Hope you like the song! :) Lyrics: Driving in the wind and rain as evening comes Longing to see him again I've been away too long But in the moonlight I can feel my heart is beating like a drum A wild suspicion flashes dark across my mind Walking up the driveway I can see another woman by his side I held my hand out and this is what I cried "Here's a silver dagger, present for the bride Silver dagger, shining in the night" Shining in the night Shining in the night She offered me a cup of red, red wine Said "Won't you try to have a good time" I turned my eyes on to her face and I could read all the lines I said "Whatever you try to do you know he's mine" Walking up behind her I could see her face grow cold I said "A gipsy's curse is on you and on everything you hold" "Here's a silver dagger, present for the bride Silver dagger, shining in the night" Shining in the night Shining in the night "Here's a silver dagger, present for the bride Silver dagger, shining in the night" "Here's a silver dagger, present for the bride Silver dagger, shining in the night ...

from the album "Three Rings" (1994) With every single step you take And every single move you make You've ever chasing dreams and fantasies Somehow you make yourself believe Sometimes you feel you found a trace In someone's words, somebody's face And you dig deeper for a heart on fire Aburning love, a strong desire To take you higher and Over and over the dreams crash On to the last bash I'm digging for gold Over and over the wheels turn On to the last yearn I'm digging for gold - digging for gold You've got through many a dark night When there were not many stars in sight You've gotta hold on to the search you're on You've gotta find the only one The search goes on and Over and over the dreams crash On to the last bash I'm digging for gold Over and over the wheels turn On to the last yearn I'm digging for gold - digging for gold music & lyrics: Dieter Klier MSM Musikverlag GMBH

from the album "Celebration" (1980) I feel it in the burning sun that's shining in the wind. I feel it in your flashing eyes like summer lightning, And all across the hillside there's thunder in the air! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Everywhere! In the space of the dark still night Every heart is beating! Can you hear? It's loud and clear, Sending out a sweet love greeting! And all across the hillside there's thunder in the air! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Love is everywhere! Everywhere! I feel it in the unfolding of every living thing; To the touch of the silent sun they are opening! I search the night for signs of life and love I travel endlessly, no time for rest or sleeping I search the ground for footprints of my kind Love is the only thing that will ever ease my mind The road grows cold, the night is coming down Far in the distance I can hear the drumbeats sound My heart tells me, deep in the forest burns a light Somebody, somewhere, never sleeps, waiting for me To find him in the night Love is the answer, you can follow it in the dark The path with a heart. The path with a heart The road grows cold, the night is coming down Far in the distance I can hear the drumbeats sound Somewhere in my heart there comes a song The song of my long lost home and the land where I was born My heart tells me, deep in the forest burns a light Somebody, somewhere, never sleeps, waiting for me To find him in the night Love is the answer, you can follow it in the dark The path with a heart. The path with a heart My heart tells me, deep in the forest burns a light Somebody, somewhere, never sleeps, waiting for me To find him in the night Love si the answer, you can follow it in the dark The path with a heart My heart tells me, deep in the forest burns a light Somebody, somewhere, never sleeps, waiting for me To find him in the night Love is the answer, you can follow it in the dark The path with a heart The path with a heart The path with a heart The path with a heart

Oh, what would the world be without those humble beginnings? Children of the Sun is the first and final album from The Sallyangie, the debut of Sally Oldfield and her younger brother Mike ("Angie" being his favorite guitar tune at the time) working together as a folk duo. This is one review where I'll have to pull my punches a bit, because otherwise I'd feel like I was slapping around a little kid. What can you really say about an album that makes Jon Anderson's solo work sound stern? Sally's lyrics, oversaturated with enough fairy tale imagery to drive the entire Disney animation staff to drink. In essence, these really are thinly veiled, hormonally-charged rhapsodies of a teenage girl (from the liner notes, she was 20 when she wrote this, though other sources suggest 18). Sample lyrics? Heh heh...all right, you asked for it. "Hey sweet prince/I love your hair of darkest violet...high king/give me princes to walk by my side" ("Lady Mary"); "My lover's hands are whiter than the wings of a dove/His hair is softest fire that falls in heavenly love" ("Children of the Sun"); "Cos I love you lover/I love you like I love the four high seasons" ("A Lover for All Seasons"); "Hey man let's have a banquet/Don't wanna know your name/You're just my lover...So keep off my lover's moon or he'll blind thee/As he walks in beauty on the water" ("Banquet on the Water"). Um, yeah. Are we detecting a common pattern here? Mike Oldfield, a mere 15-years old, was already an impressive guitar ...

from the album "Strange Day in Berlin" (1983) You call me, you say, "Meet me in Verona" Couldn't we handle this on the phone? You tell me, oh, you can't stand being alone I don't care, see, I've grown Oh, there was a time under the lindent rees I'd wait for you shaking at the knees Saying "Take me tonight! The time is right!" Oh, the time has flown, don't know where it's gone Like a fairy tale, crumpled and torn Oh, somewhere my life has gone with the wind I can hear you crying in the night But my heart has turned to stone

from the album "The Flame" (1992) It's four in the morning and the tears are blinding me, Bartender have yourself just one more drink on me, I still hear the words you said as you walked out the door, It's such a beautiful night but you're never coming back no more, I feel the warm wind blow but there's No heart, no love, no soul anywhere I go, I can feel you in the night. You're still here with me in the night, You're still holding me tight, I still hear the words you said as you walked into the night, I can't keep from crying as I call out your name, Again and again, I can't believe that so much love Could turn to so much pain. Now I got no heart, no love, no soul! I stumble across the wasteland, No heart, no love, no soul! You were the only man Who gave me that loving so sweet and strong Oh god! I just never known such a lonely night, Like being a million miles from home. It's such a cold rainy night and it's sweeping over me, So many memories, they're never gonna let me be, I walk the familiar streets where we used to wander But there's just an empty space, a barren waste Where my heart used to beat. ... another hidden gem (audio) You don't hear it on the radio, You don't see it on TV (at least I haven't over here for the last 28+ years), so reason enough for me to put this here and now - even if I was beaten to the chase in posting this here first. Sally Oldfield is one of the few artists that i can play when my mother is around. Sally's music is a bit esotheric with beautiful harmonies. Spiritual without being to spiritual and still catchy pop at the same time, a rare breed. and if you were wondering, yes, sally is mike's sister:)
