"Firecracker" was released as a single under the name "Computer Game". As such, on early US pressings of the album, "Computer Game 'Theme from The Circus'" and "Firecracker" were combined as one track, while the firecracker sound effect at the end of the track was indexed by itself as "Firecracker". This was corrected on later pressings. Both "Computer Game" tracks proper contain the same audio and were made to sound as if both games were being played in the same room; each track being from the perspective of its titular game unit. Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) is an influential Japanese electropop band, formed in 1978. They are renowned as a major influence in popular music, and for pioneering the electropop music genre. The principal members are Haruomi Hosono (bass), Yukihiro Takahashi (drums and vocals) and Ryuichi Sakamoto (keyboards). Making abundant use of new synthesizers, samplers, digital and computer recording technology as it became available, their popularity and influence extended beyond Japan. Generally the band are highly regarded as pioneers of electronic music, and continue to be remixed and sampled by modern artists. The band had stopped working as a group in 1984, after the release of their motion picture "Propaganda", the three members returning to their solo careers. The group were careful to avoid saying they had "split up", preferring to use the Japanese phrase meaning "spreading out", and in fact the trio continued to play on each other's ...

Great HASYMO performance at the Pacifico Yokohama, in 2007, for the thirtieth anniversary of the band. The original song is from Ryuichi Sakamoto's Chasm. Here, the lyrics (by Arto Lindsay): Is war as old as gravity? If I love peace do I have to love trees? Are there animals that like peace and animals that like war? Is peace quiet? Is making war an instinct we inherited from our hunting or farming ancestors? Were farmers the first warriors? Do we love without thinking? Do we do the right thing without thinking? When children fight with their brothers and sisters are they learning how to make war? How do we test the limits of our bodies without war? Why do they compare war to a man and peace to a woman? Peace is unpredictable. Why is war so exciting? War is the best game and the worst life. Is peace the hardest work? What are the different kinds of victory? In a war? In a race? Is despair a solution? Why is it dangerous to say 'never forget'? ******************* Don't forget to subscribe!

Good 'Classic Gaming' video Hi-Tech No Crime Amazing what u can do with hi-lighter pens ;) There are two actual versions of ymo's first album. The japanese 'original' release has no female vocals in tong poo and many of the tracks sound slightly different (different mix). The added vocals in tong poo clearly indicate they were trying to make it more appealing for western listeners. The japanese cover has a cigarette holder & tv showing a video game on the cover (ALCA-286)

From their 1979 album Solid State Survivor Lyrics: Now the mask you're wearing Is stoney and staring Lines and tears Age and fears Growing old Passions cold Is it me Is it you Behind this mask, I ask Is it me Is it you Who wears another face There's nothing in your eyes That marks where you cried All is blank All is blind Dead inside The inner mind Is it me Is it you Behind this mask, I ask Is it me Is it you Who wears another face
